Our Next Event:

Creating ePubs from InDesign

a presentation by Greg Heald, of American Graphics Institute

WHEN: April 19, 2017 (6:30pm to 9:30pm)

WHERE: Carson Hall @ Mount Ida College

$$$: Free admission, as all our events are.

These days, whether you’re on a plane or a subway, on a beach or in a waiting room, you’re as likely to see someone reading a Kindle or a Nook as you are a paperback or a hardcover book. Many of our printed volumes are being replaced by sleek digital readers that can hold hundreds of books and take up almost no shelf space at all.

As electronic books now make up an ever-increasing percentage of publishing sales, you’ll need to know how to convert your books and publications into the ePub and mobi formats used on the Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iOS and other electronic reading devices. Fortunately, a program that you’re probably already using, Adobe InDesign, is among the best tools available for creating ePubs.

Greg Heald, Senior Instructor at American Graphics Institute, will help you gain a better understanding of the ePub workflow in InDesign, including how to prepare your files, what formats to use, how to convert files, and how to distribute them so they can be monetized.
